Southridge Mall Grand Re-Opening

The official ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 10th, but some stores are open now. The first 200 guests will receive an exclusive VIP gift bag and one randomly chosen winner will receive a $250 gift card.

New Updates to the South Side Des Moines Directory

Big changes have been happening on the South Side of Des Moines since our last major update. While some businesses have closed or moved, many more have sprung up in a burst of new growth on the south side.

New Athletic Complex planned for Southridge Mall

Community leaders and representatives of Southridge Mall announced plans today to build a $6 million athletic facility. The 100,000 square foot project will be located on the west side of the mall.

Updates to the South Des Moines Directory

Just in time for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, we have added over 200 listings and updated contact information for a variety of South Des Moines retail locations like clothing stores, toy stores, and electronics stores. We have also added many organizations, attractions, apartments, bars & restaurants, hair salons and other interesting landmarks to the site. Last but not least, we uploaded changes to the map which should make it more accurate and faster to load.

In fact, more people live on Des Moines' South Side than in the surrounding communities of Clive, Windsor Heights, Johnston, and Altoona combined.

South Side Des Moines Directory launches

The site went live today under the domain name www.southsidedesmoines.com. We have about 700 companies, organizations, and non-profits listed so far, with more being added every week. We're still working on getting everyone's information updated, so bear with us while some of the locations listed are corrected. As always, if you find an error or know of an area which should be listed, please contact us with this information to add a listing to our guide.

There are still a few bugs to work out, but this site should be ready to use on all major browsers and mobile devices. Being able to search for places on Des Moines' south side is especially important for mobile phone users, so we wanted to make sure the site is easy to use on these devices.

We're excited to bring this type of site to Des Moines' south side, but the only way we can truly make it great is with the help of the local neighborhood residents. If you would like to know more about how you can help, don't hesitate to contact us.
